North Hants Golf Club - COURSE

North Hants Golf Club is a Club steeped in history since being opened in 1904 by Prince Alexander of Teck. An ambitious project with an ethos to attract members from London and the atmosphere of an American Country Club, in addition to a fine golf course the original footprint also included lawn tennis courts and croquet lawns of the highest quality.

The Golf course was originally designed by James Braid, extensively redesigned in 1913 by Harry Colt and further improved in 1930 by Tom Simpson. More recently, three new holes were designed by Donald Steel in 2001 and a magnificent new clubhouse was opened in 2003.

The course resides on the famous Bagshot sand belt and enjoys many of the features a heathland layout has to offer. Always in excellent condition and with exceptional drainage the course really is a joy to play all year round.

Today you will find a wonderful blend of 18 unique holes creating a memorable and fair challenge for all who play. At it's maximum the course measures just under 6600 yards so by no means the longest. But with subtle undulation to the fairway landscape. Generously sized greens allowing you to work a ball in from high or by using the contours. First class putting surfaces with devilishly subtle breaks that even the most well trained eyes will do well to predict. North Hants is a true test of golf that demands you keep your golfing wits about you at all times, rewarding well struck and thought out shots.

It will leave you wanting to come back time and time again.
